The purpose of the document is to outline the procedure for the distribution of volunteer raffle tickets.

Volunteer Raffle FAQ

How do I get tickets for the raffle?To receive tickets you must volunteer and have your volunteer card signed by your shift lead/ sub stewards/ volunteer steward/ or event steward.
How do I complete my volunteer card?Please see volunteer card template attached to this flyer!
Do I have to take tickets?No! If you just want to turn your card and donate your hours to a Geo-Political unit your service is deeply appreciated.
When do I turn my card in and get my tickets? You can turn your volunteer card in at any time, but we suggest that you wait until Sunday to claim your tickets.
What do I do with my tickets?On Sunday after court we will hold the volunteer raffle at the stone tables. You use your tickets in the raffle. Dont forget to put your name on them!
When is the raffle?Sunday after court, Dragons Horde will take place immediately following the regular raffle
Do I need to write my name on the tickets?Yes please! Initials or camp name are also acceptable, but please avoid using symbols (like a smiley face)
Do I have to be present to get my prize?No, but you must have a proxy. If no one is there to claim your prize when we call your name we will draw again.
What if I really cant wait around for the whole raffle?Please alert the Volunteer Raffle steward if you need to depart early, they will do their best to accommodate your needs.
I heard that they hold on to the extra special stuff, is that true?Yes it is! We hold on to the best raffle prizes for the Tear Down Crew raffle which is held on Monday after teardown is complete. Anyone that stays to help tear down war is automatically entered into the tear down crew raffle.
Who can I donate my volunteer hours to? Do they earn money?Yes, every hour is worth real money. You may donate your hours to any approved SCA Geopolitical group, guild, or fund (Kingdom Travel fund or CalFire Funeral Fund)
Can I donate items to the raffle?Absolutely! We accept any new or like new SCA themed items. Please take your donation to Base Camp and ask that they radio for the Volunteer Raffle Steward or Volunteer Steward to accept your donation.
Can sub steward partake in the raffle?Yes, but only for hours worked doing something you are not a steward for. (e.g Base camp steward can use hours worked at gate.)
Is there a limit on tickets I can get? Yes, everyone is limited to 50 tickets. Tickets may be traded in for golden tickets which are used in the Dragons Horde for special prizes. Additionally, if you work 50+ Hours there Golden Tickets available without the need to trade in.
