Archery

Welcome to Archery at Potrero War 2016!

The range will be open Thursday, 2-5 pm; Friday and Saturday, 9 am - 5 pm; and Sunday, 9 am to noon.

Events will include the Potrero championship, royal rounds, novelty shoots, and instructional classes for children and adults.
The Potrero championship will be held Saturday and will include open, period, crossbow and youth divisions.
Archers may enter one championship division only.
Archery authorization required to compete.

Loaner equipment will be available (first come, first served), and authorizations will be available at scheduled times.

Events will begin promptly - Please arrive early to sign in. Schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather.

Marshaling

We need range marshals on each line throughout the day. Please volunteer at least two hours of your time if you are a warranted range marshal or range marshal-in-training. Sign up at the archery range check-in table.

Range Assistants

We also need volunteer range assistants at the check-in table and to help with equipment. Previous archery experience is helpful, but not required. Volunteers can sign up online or onsite at Base Camp.

Description: The Royal Round is scored, from the center, outward, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. An arrow touching the black line dividing two colored scoring rings shall be counted as the higher scoring of the two rings. The round consists of an end of six arrows shot at 40 yards, an end of six arrows shot at 30 yards, and an end of six arrows shot at 20 yards, with a 3 minute time limit. This is followed by a 30-second speed end, shot from 20 yards. There will be a sighting end of six arrows before each slow end at 40, 30 and 20 yards.

Description: The object is to slay the dragon. The dragon will have different point values. The event will start by shooting six arrows at the ten yard line and scoring the round. Then second round will take place at the seven yard line and scoring. The archer with the highest score will win a prize.

Description: The "Lyondemere Mini-Round"will consist of a Period target. The scoring on the target will be 8 (yellow), 4(green) and 2 (white). The shooting distances and arrows will be the following:
15 yards - 2 arrows
25 yards - 4 arrows
35 yards - 8 arrows
The archer with the highest score will win the competition.
